What time are earnings released? Before the open vs after the close
Market analytics · · 4 min
US companies release earnings in two slots: before the market opens (BMO) — before 9:30 a.m. New York time, and after the close (AMC) — after 4:00 p.m. In Kyiv that is usually before 4:30 p.m. and after 11:00 p.m.; in weeks when the US and Ukraine change clocks on different dates, an hour earlier.

What time are earnings released?
A company picks one of two slots around the main US exchange session, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New York time (NYSE trading hours). The Sufics calendar uses those boundaries to split reports into «before the open» and «after the close». Kyiv time depends on the week, because the US and Ukraine change clocks on different dates:
| Slot | New York (ET) | Kyiv, 7-hour gap (usual) | Kyiv, 6-hour gap (25 Oct–1 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main session | 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | 4:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | 3:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m. |
| Before the open (BMO) | before 9:30 a.m. | before 4:30 p.m. | before 3:30 p.m. |
| After the close (AMC) | after 4:00 p.m. | after 11:00 p.m. | after 10:00 p.m. |
The times in the table are converted from the session boundaries. The earnings calendar page showed the same boundaries on 26 October 2026: «before 9:30 ET» and «after 4:00 ET».
What do BMO and AMC mean?
BMO is before market open: the company publishes before trading starts, and the price reacts at the session open. AMC is after market close: the report comes out after the close, and the first reaction lands in evening trading or on the next day. Which slot a company uses is its own choice; there is no general rule.
How do you convert New York time to Kyiv time?
New York is on UTC−5 in winter and UTC−4 in summer, Kyiv on UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer. When both cities are on the same season, the gap is 7 hours. But the US moves to winter time on the first Sunday of November and Ukraine on the last Sunday of October, so in 2026 the gap between 25 October and 1 November is six hours. In spring it mirrors: the US changes clocks before Ukraine, and for a few weeks the gap is again 6 hours. The safest way to avoid a mistake is to read the time «on your own clock»: that is how the Sufics calendar shows it next to the ET boundary.
What time is the earnings call?
With the report or soon after, the company holds a conference call: management comments on the numbers, answers questions and states expectations for the next period. The call has its own time, announced on the company's investor relations page. Examples from the «Earnings this week, 27–31 October» roundup, from company pages, checked 24 October 2026: Coca-Cola's call on 27 October at 8:30 a.m. New York time, Alphabet's call on 28 October at 4:30 p.m. New York time.
How reliable is the schedule?
The company names the date itself, but calendar data comes from aggregators. The Sufics calendar takes dates and slots from Nasdaq and Yahoo Finance and marks «≈» when the source named the date and the company has not yet confirmed it. If the source gave no time, the calendar shows «not announced» and does not guess. Sources do not give the exact publication hour, so before a trading decision check the company's investor relations page on the day of the report: that is the primary source.
How does the slot affect the price reaction measurement?
For a reader in Ukraine, BMO reports land during the day in Kyiv and AMC reports in the evening or at night. The Sufics calendar measures the reaction over 48 hours from the moment of release: for before-open reports from 7:00 a.m. New York time, for after-close reports from 4:30 p.m. The slot decides which candle the measurement starts from. In the snapshot of 26 October 2026 the median 48-hour move is 6.2% in either direction across 145 measured reports. That is the size of the move, not a forecast of its direction.
Where can you see who reports earnings today?
In the Sufics earnings calendar: the week by day and by slot (before the open, after the close, time not announced), the next two weeks as a list with the earnings-per-share forecast, and an .ics export. For past reports the calendar shows how the price moved over 48 hours. The price comes from hourly candles of Binance perpetual contracts on those stocks: they trade around the clock, so the reaction is visible even overnight.
Investing in stocks involves a risk of losing money, and a past price reaction does not guarantee the same next time. This material describes the earnings schedule and is not investment advice.
Key takeaways
- BMO is a report before the open, before 9:30 a.m. New York time; AMC is after the close, after 4:00 p.m. Data sources usually do not name the exact hour.
- Kyiv is 7 hours ahead of New York, but 6 hours in the weeks between the two clock changes: in 2026, from 25 October to 1 November.
- The company names the report date; if the Sufics calendar shows «≈», the source named the date and the company has not yet confirmed it.
- The analyst call is a separate event with its own time, announced on the company's investor relations page.
- The Sufics calendar shows the session boundary both in New York time (ET) and on your own clock.
Frequently asked questions
What time do earnings reports come out?
Most companies publish either before the main exchange session starts — before 9:30 a.m. New York time (BMO) — or after it closes, after 4:00 p.m. New York time (AMC). The earnings calendar shows which slot a company chose.
What time is earnings release today?
It depends on the company. Check the earnings calendar for today: each report is marked BMO (before 9:30 a.m. ET) or AMC (after 4:00 p.m. ET), or «not announced» when the source gives no time.
What time is the earnings call?
The company announces the call time on its investor relations page, and it may differ from the report time. For example, Alphabet scheduled its call for 28 October 2026 at 4:30 p.m. New York time and publishes the report before the call.
What do BMO and AMC mean?
BMO is before market open, a report released before the market opens. AMC is after market close, a report released after the market closes. Calendars use them to show which part of the day a company publishes its numbers.
What time do after-close reports come out in Kyiv time?
After 4:00 p.m. New York time, which is usually after 11:00 p.m. in Kyiv. In weeks with a 6-hour gap it is after 10:00 p.m. The first price reaction lands in evening trading or on the next day.
Can you find out the exact minute a report is published?
Not always. Calendar data sources often give only the slot (before the open or after the close), not the hour. When the time is not announced, the Sufics calendar shows it as such and does not guess.
Why does the gap between Kyiv and New York change?
The US and Ukraine change clocks on different dates. In 2026 Ukraine returned to winter time on 25 October and the US on 1 November, so from 25 October to 1 November the gap is 6 hours; the rest of the time it is usually 7.
